Royal Fort is also know as Lahore Fort. It is now Located in Lahore city, Province of Punjab, Pakistan. This Fort has old history started the foundation in 11th century during the period of Mehmood Ghaznavi, he was The Sultan of Ghaznavid Empire, after the Ghaznavid Empire, Fort was destroyed by Mongols during the invasion of Lahore, at that time Fort was made up of mud, Fort was rebuild in 1267 in the period of Sultan Balban, Sultan of Delhi Sultanate. Fort once again invade in period of Timur. Further it was rebuild in the period of Mubarak Shah Sayyid in 1421, he was the forth dynasty of Delhi Sultanate. Then Fort was control by Lodi Dynasty until Lahore was captured by Mughal Emperor Babar in 1526, Emperor Babar was founder of Mughal Empire In Indian Sub continent. He made some changes in architecture design of Islamic and Hindu art work. During Mughal period, Mirza Shahab-ud-Din Muhammad Khurram commonly know as Shah Jahan, he made this fort more beautiful by adding inlaid Persian Floral design art work with marble on wall of Fort. In Last Mughal Emperor period Muhi Al-Din Muhammad commonly known as Aurangzeb made Fort’s grand iconic Alamgiri Gate in 1674. It has two Semi circle bastions where lotas petal on its base side. After fall of Mughal Empire it was use of Emperor Ranjit Singh 1767-1799 then British Army won the Battle in 1849 Battle of Gujrat.
In front of Alamgiri Gate their is Hazuri Bagh which was built in the period of Maharaja Ranjit Singh same as the design of Mughal Garden, In center of garden their is Baradari which was made by white marble in 1818 to celebrate the capture of Koh-i-Noor (diamond) from Shuja Shah Durrani in 1813.
It was my wonderful experience to visit this Fort now it is know by the name of Lahore Fort and it has tremendous history, related to design, art and different Emperor era Art of mind where many Emperor Rule on this Fort, it has now more beautiful by the management of Wall City of Lahore and it is now included in UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every year many foreigner from all over the world and local citizen from all over the Pakistan come to visit this place, see the beauty and experience the previous era structure where at that time no one except the few people are allowed to see these places where Emperor Rule and Live in this Fort.
